Why NanNan
Because the best way to understand China isn't by seeing more. It's by understanding more.
Every year, millions of people visit China.
They admire the skyline.
They visit famous landmarks.
They take beautiful photos.
And they leave with wonderful memories.
But many also leave with unanswered questions.
What is everyday life really like?
Why is China innovating so quickly?
What do local people think about the future?
How do history, technology, tradition, and business all connect?
These are the questions that inspired my work.
Not to create another tour.
But to create experiences that help people truly understand China.
Curiosity Is My Compass
I believe curiosity is one of the most valuable skills we can cultivate.
Curiosity helps us ask better questions.
It challenges assumptions.
It opens conversations.
And it transforms unfamiliar places into meaningful experiences.
That's why every journey begins with a simple question:
What are you curious about?
For one client, that might be China's AI ecosystem.
For another, it's the stories hidden inside Shanghai's old lilongs.
A family may want their children to experience Chinese culture beyond textbooks.
A Mandarin learner wants the confidence to order breakfast and start real conversations.
The destination may be the same.
The journey never is.
I Don't Design Tours.
I Design Understanding.
My work combines the roles of educator, cultural interpreter, experience designer, and local connector.
Every experience is carefully crafted around your interests, goals, and questions.
That might mean visiting an innovative robotics company one day and sharing breakfast with local residents the next.
It might mean discussing business culture with entrepreneurs, exploring historic neighborhoods through architecture, or practicing Mandarin while buying vegetables in a neighborhood market.
Because understanding China doesn't happen in one place.
It happens through many small moments that gradually connect into a bigger picture.
The China You Won't Find in a Guidebook
China is full of contrasts.
Ancient temples beside futuristic skyscrapers.
Traditional breakfast stalls next to AI startups.
Quiet neighborhood parks only minutes away from global financial districts.
These contrasts aren't contradictions.
They are part of the same story.
My goal is to help you see those connections.
Not just where to go.
But why it matters.
Built on Conversations, Not Checklists
Some of my favorite moments have never appeared on an itinerary.
A breakfast shop owner explaining how the neighborhood has changed.
A child proudly teaching a visitor a new Chinese word.
A business leader sharing lessons from building a company.
A grandmother inviting us to join a morning dance in the park.
These moments can't be scheduled.
But they become possible when we travel with curiosity, respect, and openness.
That's why I leave room for genuine conversations.
Sometimes the most memorable part of a journey isn't the place you visited.
It's the person you met.
Learning Should Never Stop
For more than 13 years, I've taught Mandarin to students from around the world.
But language has always been more than vocabulary.
Language is a doorway into culture.
Business is a doorway into society.
Food is a doorway into history.
Photography is a doorway into observation.
Travel is a doorway into perspective.
Everything is connected.
The more connections we make, the more meaningful the experience becomes.
Trusted by Global Organizations. Designed for People.
I've had the privilege of working with Fortune 500 companies, executive education programs, universities, international schools, entrepreneurs, diplomats, photographers, and families from around the world.
Although every client is different, the goal is always the same:
Create an experience that is thoughtful, personal, and genuinely meaningful.
No templates.
No fixed scripts.
No two journeys are ever exactly alike.
My Promise
If we work together, I won't simply show you China.
I'll help you ask better questions.
I'll introduce you to people, stories, places, and perspectives that many visitors never experience.
I'll design a journey that reflects your interests rather than a standard itinerary.
And I hope you'll return home with something more valuable than photographs.
A deeper understanding of China.
And perhaps, a different way of seeing the world.
Let's Stay Curious.
Every city is a classroom.
Every conversation is a lesson.
Every street tells a story.
Whether you're organizing an executive delegation, planning a family adventure, learning Mandarin, or visiting Shanghai for the first time, I would be honored to help you experience China with curiosity, confidence, and connection.
Because the best journeys don't simply change where we've been.
They change how we see the world.
